| Lynne Marie Jacobs |
Ballroom InstructorLynne Marie Jacobs took her first dance class at age three & hasn't been able to stop dancing since. She enrolled in every dance class possible, performing and competing in clogging, jazz, ballet, lyrical, ballroom and drill team. She started teaching classes and teams at age 14, took Center Stage staff training, and led "tribes" of dancers as a staff member at summer dance camps. In 1995 she traveled to Europe on her first Clog America tour. Her dance "addiction" continued in college where she added modern, Irish, tap and folk dance as well as classes in dance history, teaching techniques, production, and more. She performed with BYU's International Folk Dance Ensemble and graduated in 2001 with a major in Print Journalism and a Dance minor. Lynne Marie rejoined Clog America in 2001 & toured the world with the group for several years (until her poor knees just couldn't take one more parade!). She also served on the Clog America Board of Directors and continues to volunteer on the Clog America Advisory Board. She directed High Uinta Dance Studio in Vernal, Utah from 2002-2003, and taught Social Dance for Granite Peaks Community Education until she joined the Starz family in 2008. Lynne Marie describes her love of the West Coast Swing as an addiction, loves cooking, organizing, and entertaining, and will do almost anything for a good s'more. She recently "retired" from her career in Events Management, and now spends her days taking iPhone photos of her baby, balancing way too many projects, and writing mental blog entries that she never has time to post. |
